A Letter To My Aunt

Aunt Jannette,

So, how's heaven? Is it everything people dream about? What was it like when you first stepped foot there? Are you having fun? I really hope you are. So many things have changed here since you left. Aunt Christina and Erick had a baby named Mendy. She's two now, but, Erick and Christina are seperated... Not legally but still seperated. Jaime got married, but as far as I know matt's still single. Jaime married a man named Sebastion. You have a grandchild named Chase (Jaime and Sebastians son). I don't know if you were here for it or not but Cary and her husband were divorced and now she's seeing a police officer. Tyler and Trenton are growing up so fast. Raymond and Candice have their child Maci. She's adorable. Cadie and Maddie are growing up really quickly too. Maddie just started kindergarten, and Cadie is in second grade. The biggest thing that's changed is the fact that you're not there whenever the faimly gets together. It's so different. You can tell, at every family get together there's one piece missing... And that's you. Lauren just went off to college. She went to an all girls school in Virginia. She's very excited about it. I'm sure that deep down she misses home but she's in college now it's time for her to spread her wings and meet the real world. We just recently had her going away party. Oh, and did you know that Great Grandma and Grandpa Mendenhall built a huge barn where we have all of our family get togethers now? It's huge and it's red, and it has a sign on it that says Mendenhalls Ranch. Goosh, if only you could see how things've changed. Although I have changed some. I'm emo now. Which I know you probably don't know what that is. But, it feels right. And yes, I am growing up too. But some say too fast yet, even I feel that way. I wish you could be here, I really do. But, even though you can't we all still love you and We'll all miss you. See you when I take that Journey so, see you one day. Maybe not soon, But I will see you again. Since I wasn't allowed to come to the funeral. This is my turn to say goodbye. So goodbye, with love.

                                                                                           Sincerely your neice,
                                                                                                       Ashley
